THE MOUNTAIN GHOSTS
The story of the "Mountain Ghosts" was passed down while visiting a ranch in Tennessee. Upon arriving at the ranch, we were struck by how unusual these goats looked. We were especially taken with their unique camouflage markings, clown-like faces, and large black spots. We were told that goats with these markings were known in Tennessee as the "Mountain Ghosts". As herds of these animals roamed through the mists and valleys of the mountains, folks swore they looked like ghosts moving in and out of the shadows. And so the name was formed to describe these uniquely marked goats.
